The film is about two beyond-wealthy yet bored brothers (Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche) who swap out a well-to-do finance guy in their employ (Dan Aykroyd) with a homeless conman (Eddie Murphy.. We then see an oil painting of Randolph Duke (Ralph Bellamy) and Mortimer Duke (Don Ameche) on Calvin’s wall. They are the greedy brothers who play the villains in the 1983 Eddie Murphy/Dan.

Rich, bored and happy to wreak havoc with their purse strings, the Duke brothers (Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche) relish the game, manipulating the lives of their chosen victims: Winthorpe, a star employee who manages their commodity brokerage, and Valentine, who accidentally stumbles into Winthorpe and onto the brothers’ radar while running from.. As a tribute to Landis’s Trading Places (1983)—the movie that put Murphy on Hollywood’s map—Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy reprised their Trading Places characters for Coming to America.
